The Landesmuseum Kärnten is a cultural and natural science museum in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee . The founding of the History Association of Carinthia in 1844 is also considered the founding year of the Landesmuseum. In addition to scientific research and the construction of a library, the association also ran a presentation of cultural-historical exhibits in the Klagenfurt Landhaus .
Robert Musil Literature Museum – is located in the Klagenfurt birthplace of the Austrian poet of world class and classic of modernism Robert Musil (1880-1942). The 1867 built house is owned by the state capital Klagenfurt. It was expanded by the City of Klagenfurt in the years 1996 and 1997 to a modern center for literature, in order to adapt new spaces for the museum and for the Robert Musil Institute for Literary Research at the University of Klagenfurt.
